I love this dress

A review of I love this dress

The instructions for making this dress are excellent and the details on this pattern are wonderful. From the binding, the tie, the collar, and the gathers at the neck, to the gathers at the shoulders, the binding and gathers at the cuffs, and the gathers under the yoke at the back.

The size chart put me at an 8/10 at the bust and 8 at the waist and hips. However, with the amount of ease, I opted to make a size 6 toile, then made a few alterations from there: I did a 1″ Full Bust Adjustment; I shortened the sleeves by 2cm; and, instead of making the skirt gathered, then gathered again when you tie it at the waist, I used the width of the tunic pattern piece, but the short dress length; I left off the pockets as my fabric was too lightweight to support them.

I’m really pleased with my decision to go with a less gathered, less full skirt, as it makes it much more flattering on me. I’ll definitely be making this dress again; there are so many options with this pattern.
