Lois Dress

This is the latest Sew Over It pdf pattern, the Lois Dress.  I used one of the Sew Over It ‘Wildflower’ crepes in the burgundy colour way.

I cut a size 12 and made a few adjustments: I shortened the arms by 5cm (next time I’d probably only do 3cm). The hem length is between V1 and V2 and doesn’t include the little side vents. I added simple in-seam pockets to the side seams although not sure I’d do that again as the floatyness of the skirt means they don’t sit entirely flat in the seam.

I really like the elasticated back, it gives a perfect, close fit without endless pattern adjustments or a zip. I think the cuffs are super pretty and I like how high the collar sits. Whilst the bodice pleats/design are pretty I did have to put a couple catch stitches in the v to hold the bodice closed as it was far too ‘booby’ and flappy without, especially when I sit down.
