Linden Sweatshirt

So it appears that I have 3 great loves in my life; my daughter, my husband & Linden.

Ever since I started sewing, I knew I wanted to make something with jersey but I was completely and utterly terrified of it. I needed something that would ease me into trying this new fabric and after seeing loads and loads of fantastic Instagram photos I knew the Linden would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe.

From the start I found the instructions incredibly helpful and easy to follow. For now, I don’t have a rotary cutter but after some terrible cutting with my fabric scissors I think my next make will ensure a rotary cutter is a necessity to keep pattern accuracy. The main structure of the top is super quick to assemble; I traced, cut and sewed the main bulk in one afternoon. The neckband and hem band are again, straightforward to add on but the cuffs are slightly trickier but I’m putting that down to my novice sewing skills rather than the pattern.

The only thing I was unsure of was the 1/4″ seam allowance so I cut the top the size bigger to give myself a bigger seam allowance however I’m sure with more practice this will come in time.

All I can say is, I love Linden. Can I go fabric shopping to make another one now? 🙂
