Linden Sweatshirt

I used a metre of lovely olive Girl Charlee UK terry loop-backed sweatshirt knit fabric. The striped ribbing was from Ray Stitch in Islington – I used about 1/4 metre for the neckline, cuffs and hemband. This was my second garment I have made in knit fabric. I used a regular sewing machine set onto a zig-zag stitch with a walking foot attachment. The instructions are very clear to use and there are helpful tips at the Grainline Studio blog. The fit is great for me – although before I cut into my fabric I compared the pattern with a beloved RTW sweatshirt and did my usual adjustments which was to lengthen the body and arms by about 2cm. I have blogged in more detail about it here: http://carolinejoynson.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/grainline-linden-sweatshirt.html I have also made a second Linden out of Liberty loop-back fleece, blogged about here: http://carolinejoynson.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/liberty-linden.html
