This is a great pattern. I’ve made two already! I have only made the cropped length so far but I will be making the dress and tunic versions soon I’m sure! I have included pictures of it in a grey quilting cotton which I think works well with the cropped length; the structure of the fabric gives a silhouette that I really like. The other (yellow) version is in a viscose which feels like a cotton poplin but pretty sure it’s a viscose! It’s much more drapey but I still really like it. I think for the longer versions I would want to stick to more drapey fabrics as the pattern is straight down with no waist definition. The crop isn’t too short, which is nice. Plus, with the extra length at the back, it looks really flattering and doesn’t reveal your back when you sit down or bend over. The pattern is really easy to follow and there’s a sew along on the Closet Case website which is also really useful. I really like the Closet Case sew alongs as they word things differently to how they do in the pattern so you have it explained in a variety of ways as well as pictures. Some sew alongs just copy and paste the wording from the pattern instructions which I personally think defeats the point a bit! I didn’t have any issues making this, although the button placket is done in a different way to what I’m used to- it’s a separate piece- but with the clear instructions and the sew along, it was easy to work out and I really liked learning a new way of doing things! Highly recommend this pattern. It would also be a good starting place for a shirt if you haven’t made one before.
