Harrison Shirt

A review of Cashmerette Harrison Shirt

After struggling to find shirts that would fit across my bust and upper arms without bags of fabric everywhere else, I was excited to try the Harrison!
This is a really great pattern, the instructions are clear (this is only my second shirt and my first for a woman, so I wanted very clear guidance), and although the amount of pattern pieces make it seem complex, it actually comes together quite easily. The princess seams mean a bit more sewing, but the fit is great, and true to the size guide on the pattern.
The pattern booklet is easy to read, and also has very good pictures, taking you through a proper collar and stand, and sleeves with nice cuffs and plackets, it felt very professional when finished. I did grade the sleeves up to the next size, which presented no problems when sewing them in.
I used a soft cotton voile, as you can see I didn’t try to pattern match (let those flowers go free…!) , I would bear in mind the amount of pattern prices if using fabric with a more obvious pattern .
There is an extension pack for this pattern, to make a shirt dress, which I already have lined up for my next sew!
