Wow,   I always struggle to feel body confident with swimsuits.  I am 34DD and need a lot of support and also 50 so wanting full bottom coverage.  When I saw swimsuit fabric for sale, I thought why not?

This pattern was an excellent choice  for my first try.  I love the style of the top, showing off the shoulders but also the design is similar to a sports bra so provides support by squashing the boobs in.  I think the end result is flattering to all body types and the best I’m going to get without going for an underwired style.  I love the deep bottom band, it’s very comfortable and visually narrows the body.

Another big plus was being able to create different sized bottoms to the top!    I had sewn knickers before and this was a similar process, easier in some way because there is no gusset.  Again there is a band option, which for me is a softer look as its fabric rather than elastic on your tum it is a  kinder look for my squishy belly.

The top pattern can either be adjusted at the top near the shoulders or under the bust, I am 5’4 and took an inch of the shoulder but this was the only change I made, the fit was true to size and fits me well.

I am super super happy with the end result, the fabric only cost $20 for a yard of both swimsuit and lining, and I have loads left!  I will definitely make more now I know how easy it is and could also make the top for working out
