Ginger Skinny Jeans

A review of Closet Core Patterns Ginger Jeans

My first pair of Gingers, in black. I made View B of the Ginger pattern (High rise skinny leg) and lowered the rise using the instructions on the Closet Case Patterns blog (I think you can buy a mid rise version on its own now). I also shortened the leg by 3 inches, and finally have a pair of jeans that are the perfect length for my 5ft frame! I made these in a size 8 (my normal UK HS is a 10) and didn’t need to make any other alterations.
I used a stretch denim from Splendid Stitch that is beautiful to work with and wear.
I would definitely recommend this pattern – the finished product is good and the instructions are very clear. There are lots of variations that you can do with this too. I enjoyed adding in a pocket stay with some contrast fabric. This was quite an involved make for me, spread out over a couple of weekends. It is also spread out over a couple of blog posts so if you want more details before making your first pair of Gingers there’s a lot more over at http://www.thepetitepassions.com/2017/03/mid-rise-ginger-skinny-jeans-part-1.html and http://www.thepetitepassions.com/2017/03/mid-rise-skinny-ginger-jeans-in-black.html
