Ginger Skinny Jeans

The Ginger jeans have been around for a while but it’s my first time making them. I use the mid rise pattern which came with the Sew Your Dream Jeans online workshop I did with Closet Case which I altered to make them high waisted.

I used a mid-heavy weight denim with 3% Lycra content from Fabric Dreams. They’re a German fabric company but they were the only ones I could find selling stretch denim in the weight I wanted!

These jeans were surprisingly easy to sew and fit. Even without doing the online course, I think most people would be able to manage them pretty well as the written instructions are quite clear.

I’m really happy wth how these turned out. I really like the fit and style of these jeans – they’re exactly what I was looking for!

I had always been apprehensive about making my own jeans and it has taken a long time to get enough confidence to do it. But now I’m definitely a convert to jeans making!
