A review of Closet Core Patterns Ginger Jeans

I guess the short version is simple: This is a great pattern. I’m wide across the hips with very little butt to speak of, and I’ve got very long legs which is problematic for finding RTW pants, especially jeans. I did have to make modifications, but this pair is my ‘wearable muslin’ – and I’ve been wearing them weekly since I made them.
They’re delightful, and the fit is perfection. I made a size 2, added 3″ in length, removed rise from the back yoke, and curved the waistband to fit my hips. I may consider adding 1/2″ to the rise for a future pair, but that’d be more cosmetic than anything else. I LOVE my gingers – in fact, I’m up to four pairs now! I’ve added the pocket stay option to every pair so far – a great feature all by itself.
The instructions and diagrams are perfect, straightforward, and conversational. Plus, they’re packed with tips that I keep going back to. I’d definitely recommend this pattern to anyone looking to sew their jeans. It does take a bit of time, but the finished product is absolutely worth it.
