Flora Dress – By Hand london

This is the second time I’ve made this dress but I’m now quite a different size and shape to last time.
The pattern is beautifully drafted but I would recommend making a toile of the bodice: I found I could size down more than expected and also that I needed to take wedges out of the front and back neckline to get a good fit.
The skirt is gorgeous; I added in seam pockets and allowed the hem to drop for a couple of days. The lining and fashion fabric didn’t drop to the same point so I think this is a vital step.
I made it up in a heavier stretch cotton sateen this time and love the finished result!
