Easy to wear with some nice stylish details

A review of Style Arc Kew Woven Pant

I chose this pattern to make trousers that were a little different from my usual RTW straight leg jean style. They have an interesting shape, seam details ( with opportunity to top stitch to add detail), and front slits whilst still being fitted around the waist and hip area.

i was prepared for the minimal Style Arc instructions as I have used them before, but this does make these a make for sewists who know what they are doing! Despite having some idea (I haven’t made many trousers) I have a mystery pattern piece ( see blog for details) which has remained unused @0as part of the pocket construction!  Despite this the pockets are fine!!!!!

I made a number of alterations to the pattern:

omitted the coin pocket

Omitted pattern piece for pocket

lengthened the leg – trousers were made for winter and I had already read in another review that the ankle grazing style was on the short side . ( I am 5’ 2” so usually shortening patterns)

Took in the seams at the back to reduce baggies around hips / bottom ( pictures on blog)

Used bias binding around front slits

The actual construction is fairly standard for fly trousers I think and the pattern delivers on offering trousers that are stylish and different. The cut of the legs makes them comfortable to west. I think a pair of cropped ones in summer weight fabric would be ideal for spring / summer wear in the future
