This was my first time making a pattern from Vogue. I’ve heard in the past that they can be tricky so I’ve kinda steered away from them, but since this one was labelled “very easy” and I couldn’t notice any complicated construction from the picture I decided I loved it enough to give it a try.

I made the dress as per instructions, with a couple of exceptions. I didn’t install a zipper, I just left about 15cm open from the top on the back seam and installed a clasp. As I’m smaller in my upper body I was able to wiggle into it, and this way I avoided the work of installing a zipper. That said, I do believe a zipper would lay flatter and also would avoid said wiggling into the dress. I reinforced the back seam at the point where the zipper should be installed, so I can go back and unpick to that point and add the zipper later if I choose.

All in all it was a super easy pattern to make and fits very well. I’m convinced that this is a dress I’ll be wearing over and over and over again.
