Easy and Chic! Vogue V1739

A review of Vogue Tunic and Trousers V1739

This is a very simple pullover tunic dress, with a single button fastening. It is a great pattern for a beginner, as there are no zips, or complicated fastenings. The long sleeve is very easy to insert, should you prefer it.

I have only made the version with the short (incorporated) sleeve, but I may possibly add the long sleeved version for in between seasons.

The dress could look dramatically different depending on the fabric chosen. It would look good in cotton voiles, denim or even light weight wool for the cooler months. I have made three versions of this dress, all in a plain linen. However I have embroidered the neckline to give it some detailing. Unfortunately it does not show in the photograph.

It is perfect layered over shorts, jeans or wide leg trousers. It is a fabulous dress for hot weather, and would look stylish on any city break. It is the kind of dress that would take you from daytime to evening depending on the accessories used.

I recommend this dress for a beginner sewer and for anyone who likes understated elegant lines.
