Dramatic Irma is a bit of welcome frosting

A review of I AM Patterns Irma Dress and Shirt

This was one of those projects that I loved as soon as I saw it, bought it and printed it off the same day. It’s quite a dramatic design from their new I AM Magic collection, but I really liked the tailored top half mixed with the flirty bottom, and the design details are really nice: the concealed placket, box pleat and pleated sleeves.

I decided to use this floaty crepe I got on Goldhawk Rd a couple of years ago and made a straight 46. This corresponded to my high bust measurement and I’d have normally graded out from bust out, but didn’t because of all the ease, so I’d recommend checking the finished garment measurements when picking a size.

I really loved sewing this and I wrote a full post about it with construction details and pics here if you’re interested in the whole story. 🙂 Definitely recommended and I just another pattern from the same collection thanks to my experience with this one.
