Confidence building coat

I wanted to make a coat for ages but I was pretty nervous about it.  I had a pattern but it has welt pockets and many seams that I would have to match my checked fabric across, so I procrastinated for months before I decided to get the Vienne coat pattern instead and give that a go.  As well as being a less complex pattern than my other choice, I knew that Donna at Size Me does You Tube videos for all her patterns, and these really hold your hand through the complex parts so I felt I would be able to do this.

And I was right, with the help of the instructions and the excellent video I was able to make a coat, and I learnt techniques I can apply to making that other coat pattern one day (but not in checked fabric that I have to pattern match!).  It was a great confidence builder.
