A review of Coco Top and Dress
This is a 60s inspired jersey dress or top with options to include a funnel roll neck, rolled cuffs and patch pockets. The sizes range from UK 6 to 20.
This dress has been designed for medium weight knits that are not too stretchy. I used navy and white striped cotton jersey that suited this project perfectly.
I did not really need instructions since this was such an easy and quick make with not too many steps. However, the instructions seem quite clear and there are lots of photos to explain the sewing steps. I think this could be a good pattern for beginner seamstresses.
I particularly like the slightly fitted A-line silhouette. I also like the option for the cuffs and the t-shirt version but I haven’t tried them yet. I’m not so sure about the funnel roll neck. I think it is just not suited for my personal style. I think also that I might make the dress a bit longer the next time. I think I’m a bit too old for this mini length and will probably wear it more with leggings or jeans.
I have now used this pattern twice. First I made a dress for a friend who is in her 60s. For her I straightened the hem for the dress not to bee too girly. Now I have made a dress for myself and I think I must make the top version next since I like this pattern so much. And yes, I can recommend this pattern.
So to conclude, a great pattern and suits also for beginners!
