Chloe Dress – A cool summer dress

A review of Chloe Dress - A cool summer dress

No problem following the instructions. Makes a cool, comfortable dress ( no problem with non stretch fabric). Note this dress is quite short- I put a very small hem on and I am only 5’2″- cut it longer if you are taller/ want a longer skirt length!
Inspired by blogs I decided to try to insert flat seam piping in the front and back princess seams. Did not use buttons. Did not line the dress so bias bound neck and sleeve edges. Adjusted bodice for short waist ( standard adjustment for me) and spent a long time on toille trying to adjust the seams to get a good fit before making up the pattern with the flat seam piping. Scooped neck out slightly lower as it was slightly too high for my personal taste for a summer dress.
Next time i’m going to make my life easier and use contrast fabrics/ stripes to cut down on the work caused by flat piping! It was loads of work – although I like the result
Conclusion: I made my life difficult by choosing to add the in seam piping – but I enjoyed the process and like the results. Really comfy to wear and kept me cool sightseeing in Italy
