Candy Floss Pink Dawson Coatigan

I wanted to make the Dawson Coatigan the minute I saw the reverse dart details on the cuffs, neck and back. These little details really make the coatigan different and give a really lovely fit the the garment. It also has lovely huge pockets which are essential in any garment!

The coatigan is designed to be unlined, so its good for soft knits, you don’t want anything too scratchy. Ideally look or a fabric thats as attractive on the inside as it is on the outside.

I look my time with all of the processes of this make, making sure the seams were nicely finished and pressed properly. That is one of the downsides to an unlined garment but I like to look at it as an opportunity to make the inside as nice as the outside.

As this coatigan is unlined, I would say its a Spring/Autumn coat, not a heavy winter coat, but its a great casual addition to my wardrobe.

All in all it was a lovely thing to make, clear instructions and lovely details. I love the dart detail, as well as the mandarin collar and those big pockets!

The fabric used was a Wool Blend from Minerva Crafts.
