Camden Skirt in pink denim

A review of Nina Lee Camden Pinafore and Skirt

Reviewed by Holly Stevens on 17th August, 2019

This is such a versatile pattern, I was initially drawn to the cute pinafore version as I love the fitted style but a skirt was what I needed in my little wardrobe collection. I decided to use this gorgeous pale pink stretch denim from Guthrie & Ghani and I had 1.3metres to play which this skirt easily fit into. I cut out a size 10 at the waist and a size 6 at the hips (my measurements are 27″ at the waist and 34″ at the hips), grading between the two. The pockets were a little tricky to grade between but I kept the size 10 at the waist of the pocket piece then basically just graded the side seam down. This skirt is fully lined too and I had some left over Art Gallery pineapple print cotton from a make last year so I used that for the lining.

This was my first time making a Nina Lee pattern and I found the instructions really easy to follow with helpful diagrams to refer to throughout also. There was just the right amount of detail to follow the pattern but not too much so that I wasn’t overloaded with information.
