Black Beauty Bra View B – all the feminine prettiness!

Reviewed by SewSarahSmith on 1st March, 2020

I’ve sewn this bra pattern three times now – the first two were meant as ‘everyday’ wear bras and were made using View A and duoplex fabric. The last of the three was made using View B and is fully lined lace tulle.

I had wanted to sew my own lingerie for the longest time but, knowing how poorly the vast majority of RTW bras fit me, I was really apprehensive before starting – imagining a whole host of fitting nightmares! But that proved not to be the case! This bra pattern fit pretty much excellently straight ‘out of the envelope’! I have lengthened the back straps on the latest version (that’s because I’m particularly long in the torso) and I might widen the back band to accommodate a three part hook and eye fastening instead for increased comfort (I’m a DD cup).

Overall I cannot recommend this pattern highly enough – the instructions are clear and thorough and make sewing a bra a farily methodical, straightforward process.

I’ve got two blog posts on these – you can see View A (double straps and in duoplex fabric )HERE and View B – all the pretty lined tulle HERE.
