Bettine Dress – Short and long versions

Reviewed by Sevvie on 28th January, 2020

I am so pleased to have been able to make a Bettine dress… I love the result and I look forward to making more with buttons, with tabs, in a flowy material, in denim…. here begins Bettine madness. Thank you Tilly!

I got my material (double gauze cotton) from the Marché Saint Pierre in Paris… not the one online (you get redirected to Coupons Saint Pierre, which only offers material in a given size). The shop spreads over 4 floors with not that much stuff, but I found some of it was quite nice. Price wise, it is pretty standard.

Here is the fabric I got:

It is a double gauze cotton, it feels like a mousseline, super light and soft… I think you are supposed to use it for baby linen… oh well, it was yellow, it had clouds and triangles, I liked it straight away ?

The pattern was very well explained, the booklet is in colour and each step is pictured. You cannot go wrong.

Here is my first finished bettine:

I love it, it is so preetttyyy.

So much so, that I did a long version….

with fancy buttons on the sleeves:

Thank you Tilly…
