This was my first Tilly and the Buttons dress and a perfect place to start. I decided to make the pocket version but without the arm ties. I traced off the paper pattern and went for a size 4 according for my measurements. I had been warned about the neckline stretching so I made sure that I out in stay-stitching along the neckline. The instructions were fantastic, clear and concise accompanied with brilliant photos. I loved the tips that it gave to ensure that all levels of sewists are catered for. The insertion of the pockets took a moment of notice but again the clear instructions play a big part here. The fit is brilliant, a comfortable semi-fitting dress with a tulip shaped skirt. As there aren’t any darts it makes it a great starter project for beginners.
