Beautiful dress!

A review of Itch to Stitch Kalispell Dress

The Kalispell dress appealed to me as soon as I saw it – I love a full skirted dress, and I think the V neck and front button bands are really pretty.

This was the first Itch to Stitch pattern that I’ve made and I was really impressed with it – the instructions were very detailed and the sizing was good (the different cup sizes definitely helps with that). It’s not the quickest pattern to sew, but it also isn’t too complicated – it’s just there are more pieces to put together and some of the steps (such as attaching the button band) need you to take your time to get a nice finish. I didn’t have any problems during the construction of the dress.

I made a couple of small changes – one fitting change (lengthened the bodice, which is a standard adjustment for me), and one slight change to the sewing process so that I could leave hemming the skirt until I could try the dress on and adjust the length if necessary. In terms of length – this is the skirt length from the pattern, but with a slightly larger hem and it comes to knee length on me (I’m about 5’9″) rather than the midi length intended by the pattern.
