Beautiful and versatile skirt

I love a well-drafted pleated skirt, and the Deer & Doe Chardon really fits the bill! I don’t make muslins for skirts, and was a bit skeptical of the 1″ ease in the pattern, but the fit turned out perfect. I give it 4 stars because I really didn’t like that the waistband facing isn’t secured anywhere besides at the zipper – I had to hand-stitch it to the inside of the pleats, otherwise it would keep folding up when I tried to put it on. I also considered lining the skirt, but I wasn’t quite sure how I would be able to do it since the pleats are also part of the waistband. The fabric I used this time didn’t need lining, but if I did line it I would probably cut lining from the pattern and gather rather than pleat, and sew the lining to the edge of the waistband facing before sewing it into the skirt.
Otherwise a really simple skirt to make and I imagine I’ll be making many more!
