Ashton Top PDF review

I think I’ve found my forever tank pattern. ❤? Don’t dismiss the Ashton as just a tank top. Well, it is but it’s a great one. There are 2 length options, cropped and hip length. The sizing is very inclusive and there’s bust shaping to help with fitting as well. Not only that, the pattern comes with both facings or bias finish options. I mean, that’s a LOT of bang for your buck! The instructions are very detailed and clear, including the burrito method for attaching the facings. Of which I’m a huge fan because it results in an uber clean finish, inside and out. This is my second one. The first one I finished with bias binding and I can confirm that the instructions are really good for both options.
I made a size 4, lengthening the cropped version by 2 inches. This one was made with less than a metre of leftover linen and that includes the facings. It’s perfect for scrap busting.
I highly recommend the Ashton, especially for a beginner. Helen holds your hand throughout and the finished product is a real summer wardrobe staple.
