Ascot tunic with some changes

I made the ascot tunic by Style Arc out if a linen rami blend .i didn’t make the belt as I NEVER wear belts . The pattern went together easily .i made some changes to the cutting and construction . The first was that I put the front pattern piece on the fold rather than having a centre front seam which would have disrupted the pattern on the fabric . The neck facing was also cut on the fold .
I interline the boule shaped sleeves with silk organza to stop them collapsing . This worked really well. The last chance was to put a casing in the the back centred  over the centre back then put a small piece of wide elastic in this the create some pleating to pull in the back and give some “essence of waist “ to the back of the tunic which would otherwise be too voluminous if worn without the belt .

I will make this again . It a nice loose tunic for the hot weather we are having at the moment .
