(another) New favourite dress

A review of Tilly and the Buttons Indigo Top and Dress

Reviewed by PatsyPoo on 4th December, 2019

I was very resistant to the Indigo pattern. I didn’t think I needed another smock dress pattern in my arsenal. Turns out I was wrong. ?

I’m so glad I caved though. I am 100% in love with it, despite one fitting niggle that I haven’t been able to fix yet. I made a straight size 3, which is my usual Tilly size. I made a forward shoulder adjustment and I lengthened the sleeves to full length. My shoulder seams still feel off so I need to look into that further for next time.

Other than that, I am so pleased with the final dress. It’s comfortable to wear and it looks really lovely. The fabric I used was a chambray and I think it works so well for this dress. It was a breeze to sew. I’m sure the instructions are really good but I haven’t looked at them too closely, other than for the order of construction.

If you’re on the fence, like I was, may I suggest you just do it. You are unlikely to regret it.
