An ideal first trouser pattern

If you are new to sewing trousers this pattern is a great starting point! Comprising of only 4 pattern pieces and with excellent instructions, the Luna Pants are a very beginner-friendly project. I used a 40z cotton denim for my pair as I wanted a more comfortable alternative to jeans that still worked well with the rest of my wardrobe. I made the size XS which are fine, but I think they are not as loose fitting as intended so I would make the size S next time. I didn’t need to make any alterations to the pattern – they are drafted for someone who is 5’6″ and I am 5’4″, but I liked the length on me so kept it as it is. I really love the Luna Pants and I think it is a pattern I will sew again – for a more experienced sewist they are a very quick project and I want to try them in a viscose for the summer.
