A weekend work-horse!

A review of Sew House Seven Toaster Sweaters

Reviewed by Mel Forrest on 15th January, 2019

I absolutely love this jumper and have worn it every weekend since I finished it! It’s a really simple sew, so perfect for beginners or those new to working with knit fabrics.

I used some gorgeous quilted sweatshirt fabric from Guthrie Ghani. For some unknown reason I only bought 1m (what was I thinking?!) so I had to do some incredibly careful cutting and make-up the sleeve pieces in two parts, but I managed it!

The instructions were fab and it was great to learn a new skill – how to pivot corners when stitching with a twin needle.

I usually wear a size 8, so I made the XS with no adjustments, which has created a nice fitted sweater. If I wanted a more relaxed fit I would go for the size S next time.

I particularly love the split detail at the hem and the neckline on the Toaster and I will be making more for sure, but next time I will buy 1.5m of fabric!!!
