A very versatile, fun pattern

A review of Tilly and the Buttons Indigo Top and Dress

I wasn’t totally sure about this pattern when it was first released, but there are so many beautiful versions out there, and so many hacking possibilities with it I decided to buy the pattern about this time last year. I think part of the reason it has taken me so long to get on and make it is because there are so many options – I bought it with the add-on pack, which includes a short sleeve option, an extra tier for a midi length version, and extra back bodice pieces for a button placket option. I decided to go for the mid length sleeves and midi length skirt, with pockets. I decided not to do the exposed frill seam this time, maybe next time. I like the buttons on the back, but I went for a front button placket because I might need it for nursing when the baby comes. I like the more gathered/cinched in look so I added ties, and I included pockets, of course!

There are some adjustments I would like to make next time I sew this pattern, which I detail in my blog post here
