A pair of trousers

I’m looking for the perfect trousers pattern and Manhattan trousers from SBCC Patterns could be The One!

I’m 157 cm tall (waist 74-76 cm, hip 98 cm) and after reading the size chart I made a size 8 (waist) and graded up to hip size 10. I took my measurements, traced the pattern and cut out the pattern pieces in april 2019 and after that I put the pieces in a bag and also started to go by bike to work… I finished this WIP in november 2019.  As my fabric is very stretchy (both ways) size 8 would have worked, especially since some weight restribution took place after I started to cycle commute.  I used at very stretchy, rather heavy cotton satin, which I love and it is perfect for trousers like these.

The instructions are fairly easy to follow with good illustrations, but I don’t think this is a pattern for beginners. Call me grumpy, but there could be some basic instructions when to overlock the pieces for example.

The trousers turned out basically as I had expected (and hoped for) – the legs are a bit wide but that can easily be adjusted. I think it is an advantage with patterns constructed for my petite size and I will probably make another pair. If I use similar stretchy fabric I’ll go down a size and with a firmer fabric I’ll follow the size chart.
