This is the Anna Coat from the Work to Weekend ebook. I have to admit I had a little mishap when sewing the pockets in as the construction was not what I had expected. I made a size 8 and no other alterations and I am really happy with the fit. It is quite long as I am 5′ 8″ and if you were making the coat you might want to check it wasn’t going to be too long.

This isn’t a lined coat which makes it a quick sew as far as a coat goes so bear your finishing in mind when making as there is nowhere to hide!!!

I used a gaberchino from Minerva Crafts which was extremely cheap and perfect for a test run. I am happy with how it has turned out but may try to sneak some little stitches in to anchor the facings to the front of the coat around the area where the belt is to stop them from flipping out.

I might also take a little volume out of the sleeve cap if I make it again as there is a lot of easing there all of which I don’t think is completely necessary and just makes the sleeves a little difficult to ease in. This is a change I regularly make with Sew Over It patterns.
