I’ve made another McCalls 7119! I originally made this up back in the summer using a floral viscose and it turned out to be my favourite make of the summer. I knew then I wanted to make this Black Tie ‘tuxedo’ version using the contrasting sides of a satin backed crepe. Although a little trickier to sew up using a backed crepe – it didn’t really want to take a pressed crease – I love how it’s turned out and I can’t to wear it over Christmas. You can bet a clapper is on my list for Santa too! A fabric like this is ideal for this dress as the reverse side of the back skirt shows from the front. I feel a bit swishy in it! ((Links to both versions of this dress can be found over on my blog : Sewsarahsmith.com))
