Versatile and well-drafted pattern

A review of Closet Core Patterns Kalle Shirt/Shirtdress

I selected this pattern after watching Lauren from Guthrie & Ghani who compared a number of shirt patterns. I had a piece of fabric I bought in a market in Indonesia several years ago, and I thought that the Kalle was the perfect way to utilise this fabric.
I made version A, but with the hidden placket.
I altered the pattern to increase the length by 3″ as I didn’t think that I could rock such an extremely cropped top.
Except for the instructions for attaching the sleeve cuff, everything was very clear and easy to follow. The sleeve cuff instructions didn’t explain that only one layer should be attached at first. ( I have since made another version of this pattern and I simply overlocked both layers onto the shoulder at one time which was quick, easy and looked perfectly fine).
I messed up a little on the topstitching around the hem as I didn’t realise that I was supposed to follow the curve at the sides.
I have since also made another shirt dress from a different pattern which included a hidden placket, which had very confusing instructions and so I referred back to this one to figure out what to do.
Overall very happy with this pattern and the resulting top which I have had loads of compliments about.
