Kalle Shirt & Shirtdress

A review of Closet Core Patterns Kalle Shirt/Shirtdress

This is my second Kalle shirt, and I have many many more planned. I really do love this pattern and would really recommend it.

It’s my first cropped Kalle, and it is a little too cropped – I can only wear it with super high waisted trousers, so I’ll be lengthening the front piece next time I make one.

I love the fabric used for this shirt; it’s a cotton lawn I bought it to make a dress, and after cutting it out, I still had a metre or so leftover. I knew I wanted to make a cropped Kalle, and was delighted to find that with some creative pattern piece placement, I managed to squeeze one out of the remnant. I’m really pleased as I think the fabric really suits the style of the shirt, and is cool enough to wear in the heat, but good for layering in the colder months.

I’ve written two blog posts about this shirt. The first is about the shirt itself: https://sewslowsarah.wordpress.com/2018/02/16/floral-wonder-my-second-kalle-shirt/

And in the second I talk about the adjustments, including dartless full bust adjustment, and take a look at the innards of my garment:
