Georgia Dress

A review of By Hand London Georgia Dress

I made the skinny strap and longer skirt variation of the By Hand London Georgia dress, from a stretch cotton. I cut a size 6 at the bust, grading to an 8 at the waist and a 10 at the hips. I shortened the straps a little. To fit the dress to my body, I took it in by 5cm at each side seam from the waist to the hem, and took 2cm off the back seams at the waist to account for my sway back. I was also able to eliminate the zip due to the stretchy fabric I was using. The dress was quite simple to put together. The only part I struggled with was getting a neat join between the bust and the triangular section of the bodice that meets it. I settled on a less than perfect finish, but due to the pattern of my fabric you can’t really tell! Love this dress and would make it again.
