First Coat – Project Eden

Reviewed by Martina on 18th April, 2019

What a cracker! Eden was love at first sight and the moment Tilly’s newsletter with the Kit came in, I just had to have it. I bought the parma violet kit with white yellow striped lining.

The coat itself is sewing up really nicely. As usual , Tilly’s instructions are impeccable and easy to follow. I made the short coat and decided to put 4 snaps in the front and one on the hood. I won’t ever close the pockets with snaps so I didn’t bother but maybe I will.

So far it hasn’t rained, so I cannot attest to the waterproofness of the waxed cotton.

I’ve worn it daily since and have received so many compliments. ?

I’m also keeping this one in mind for a winter duffle coat.

Here she is finally done. Welcome the first wearable coat into my handmade wardrobe, the @tillybuttons Eden coat. Absolutely a breeze to sew up, as usual Tilly’s instructions are impeccable. I’ve worn it daily since I finished it last week and have received so many compliments already. If you are in need of a coat, definitely check this out. Unfortunately, it hasn’t really rained yet so haven’t tested the waterproofness (that’s a thing, isn’t it?) yet. . . . . . #sewing #sewingismagic #sewcialist #sewaholic #diyootd #sewingismysuperpower #isewmyclothes #nähenistwiezaubernkönnen #diywardrobe #dreamwardrobe #makenine #makenine2019 #sewingeden #edencoat #raincoat #lilacloversclub #tillyandthebuttons #craftypinupshop #mancsews
