Aurora Top – a 3 hour make

A review of Aurora Top - a 3 hour make

This is a great download if you are looking for a quick tank to wear for summer. I made mine out of a 1m jersey remnant from Sew Over It and it took me about 3 hours from start to finish. There are only a few pattern pieces which helps a lot with this! There is some subtle details that add interest such as gentle gathering at the shoulder and a back yoke with a pleat underneath. One thing I really like about this is the length – often I find ready to wear tanks are too short (even for my 5ft stature!). The sizing is pretty good too – I made the one that matched my measurements and didn’t need to alter it – being made out of jersey probably helps with this!
This pattern is suitable for a beginner who has some experience with knit fabrics. It will definitely lead to a satisfying outcome. I would love to make mine in a geometric patterned jersey next time.
