This pattern is a fantastically flexible basic that can be used to make a robe, simple jacket or even a cardigan. It’s suitable for almost any fabric from rayon, silk or linen for warmer months to a fleece or sweater knit for cooler months. You can even use up leftover fabrics for a scrappy, colour blocked garment.

View A is a classic robe style with patch pockets, a tie belt and carriers. View B is a casual jacket with turned back cuffs, oversized pockets and a hem band. It’s easy to adjust the design of this pattern to suit your personal preferences.

Suggested fabrics: This pattern is designed to be used with a wide variety of fabrics. View A: Light to medium weight woven or knit fabric such as cotton, linen, sweater knit, rayon, silk, french terry, towelling, fleece. View B: Medium to heavy weight cotton or linen. If you want to use a lighter weight or knit fabric for View B, make the in-hem pocket narrower to prevent sagging.

Fabric requirements: The amount of fabric needed will depend on the size and style of garment. In general, you will need 2 – 4 yd/m of fabric.

Sizing: Any size you want.

Notions: Thread; 1/2″ (1.3 cm) wide ribbon (optional, for hanging loop on robe).
