Buy the Superstar Bra sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. The Superstar Bra is a lounge bra that’s so comfortable you’ll never want to take it off! It has a crossover back and three band options – regular jersey, cropped top jersey and elastic.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). Choose sizes XXS – L, XL – 3XL, or 4XL – 5XL. What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabricsLight/medium weight knit fabrics with 50%+ stretch and excellent return (returns to its original size and shape after being stretched). Possible fabrics include cotton/Lycra jersey and athletic polyester/Lycra jersey. You can use the same fabric for your outer and lining. Additionally, you can provide extra support by sewing a middle layer of power mesh.

Fabric requirementsThe yardage is calculated for directional fabric. If your fabric does not have a directional print, you may need a little less. If you are using up scraps/leftovers then you can piece the straps and use significantly less.

140 cm (55″) wide fabric (amount required for each of two fabrics, outer and lining): 50 – 60 cm (1/2 – 5/8 yd).

Sizing: XXS – 5XL and A – H cups. Please check the designer’s size chart.

When picking a size for this pattern DO NOT use your bra size. Measure your high bust and use that to pick your size (XXS – 5XL). Then measure your full bust. The difference between your high bust and full bust gives you your sewing cup size: 2.5 cm (1″) = A cup / 5 cm (2″) = B cup / 7.5 cm (3″) = C cup / 10 cm (4″) = D cup / 12.5 cm (5″) = E cup / 15 cm (6″) = F cup / 17.5 cm (7″) = G cup / 20 cm (8″) = H cup.

Don’t panic if your sewing size seems very different to your shop bought bra size. Sewing cups take into account your shoulders and back in a way that traditional bra sizing doesn’t.

Notions: Clear elastic (optional, provides extra support), 6 mm (1/4″) is ideal but 10 mm (3/8″) can be used, 210 – 250 cm (2 3/8 – 2 3/4 yd); wide plush elastic (for the elastic band option), 35 mm (1 3/8″) – 50 mm (2″) can be used (wider is a better choice for larger sizes and is more comfortable), 55 – 95 cm (5/8 – 1 1/8 yd); sew-in bra cups (optional); jersey/stretch needle.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/legal/letter print-at-home pattern (64 pages for all sizes, 5-9 pages per size); A0 copy shop pattern (3 sheets); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the sizes(s) you need. Note: This pattern is designed to be printed in colour.
