Buy the Samara Cardigan and Robe sewing pattern from Victory Patterns. Samara is a relaxed, loose fit cardigan and robe with drop shoulders, 7/8-length sleeves, square patch pockets, a neckband, and a belt that can be tied at the waist.

Version 1 is a cardigan style and falls just below the hip. Version 2 is a robe style and falls just below the knee. Samara works in both knit and woven fabrics and can be sewn on a serger or regular sewing machine.

The cardigan is perfect for a cool day when made in a warm, cosy knit. The robe is beautiful in a lightweight woven fabric on a summer night worn as a light jacket over jeans and a T-shirt or a dress.

Suggested fabrics:

Knits: Light to medium-weight knits with medium to high drape and moderate stretch. Jersey knit, French terry knit, sweater knits, double knits.

Wovens: Light to medium-weight fabrics with a moderate to high drape. Rayon, silk, linen, Tencel, challis, boiled wool.

Fabric requirements: Purchase additional fabric if lengthening your garment or using fabric with a nap, directional print, stripes or plaids.

Version 1 (cardigan): 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/8 – 2 1/2 yd (2.2 – 2.3 m) // 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 2 5/8 – 2 7/8 yd (2.4 -2.6 m).

Version 2 (robe): 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/4 – 3 yd (2.5 – 2.8 m) // 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 3 1/2 – 3 3/4 yd (3.2 – 3.4 m).

Sizing: 0 – 16 (approx. UK 6 – 18). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 1/4 yd (0.2 m) of interfacing compatible with weight of fabric. For knits, tricot interfacing is recommended.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (36 pages for cardigan, 44 pages for cardigan and robe); 36″ wide copy shop pattern (1 sheet); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets).
