NOTE: No printed pattern pieces are included. Rotary cutting instructions/measurements are provided instead, as all the pieces are rectangular (just cut and sew, no pattern pieces needed).

Suggested fabrics: Canvas (7-9 oz.) for exterior fabric. Waxed canvas may also be used for exterior fabric (reduce fusible interfacing requirement to 1 3/4 yd and do not interface the exterior fabric pieces). Quilting cotton for accent and lining.

Fabric requirements: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) (or two fat quarters, 18″ x 21″ each) // Accent fabric (includes reinforced base, handles and strap), 1/3 yd (0.3 m) // Lining fabric (includes interior pocket), 1 yd (0.9 m) (or 3/4 yd if using non-directional fabric).

Sizing: Approx. finished dimensions: 10 1/2″ W (measured at base) x 2 1/2″ D x 13″ H.

Notions: 2 1/2 yd of fusible woven interfacing (20″ wide); one 6″ zipper for front pocket (pattern assumes zipper tape width of 1″); one 12″ zipper for top closure; two 1″ wide D-rings; two 1″ wide swivel clasps; one 1″ wide strap slider; 2″ x 11″ piece of heavyweight interfacing for reinforced base; glue pen // Optional: two 3/4″ wide x 15″ long leather handles and eight 8 mm rivets/setting tool; two 1/4″ x 5″ pieces of leather/ribbon for zipper pulls.
