Buy the Compass Bag sewing pattern from Noodlehead. Sling this casual bag over your shoulder and go in a new direction! This roomy bag has a choice of cargo or slip style exterior pockets, as well as slip and zippered interior pockets. It has a magnetic closure and flat base. Add an adjustable crossbody strap or a fixed length shoulder strap. There are two sizes to sew!

Large: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 3/4 yd (0.7 m) // Lining fabric (includes interior pockets and pocket linings), 1 1/4 yd (1.2 m) // Exterior accent fabric (includes strap and exterior pockets), 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Small: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Lining fabric (includes interior pockets and pocket linings), 1 yd (0.9 m) // Exterior accent fabric (includes strap and exterior pockets), 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Sizing: 

Large: Finished dimensions: 11 1/2″ W x 13″ H x 5″ D.

Small: Finished dimensions: 9 1/2″ W x 11″ H x 4″ D.

Notions: Fusible woven interfacing (20″ wide), 2 1/2 yd for large or 2 yd for small; cotton canvas (9-11 oz.) or fusible fleece, 3/4 yd for large or 1/2 yd for small; 18 mm magnetic snap; two 1″ wide D-rings; 1″ wide strap slider; two 1″ wide swivel clasps; four 8-9 mm double cap rivets and rivet setting tool (large only, optional); all-purpose zipper (for interior zippered pocket), 8″ for large or 6″ for small; fabric glue or 1/4″ wide fusible web tape.
