Buy the Mississippi Avenue Dress and Top sewing pattern from Sew House Seven. As a sleeveless style, the Mississippi Avenue Dress and Top lends itself to spring and summer dressing, then makes a great transition piece when paired with a cardigan, tights and boots. It can have a vintage look when sewn in a drapey fabric such as rayon challis, or it can have a more modern look when sewn in a crisp linen or cotton. Any way you fashion it, it’s a great style.

The Mississippi Avenue features a v-neckline, spaghetti shoulder ties, an elastic almost-empire waist (slightly higher than the natural waistline) and a front panel that creates an interesting design feature. There are three length options: Top A falls below the high hip, Dress B falls above the knee, and Dress C falls a little below the knee.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight fabrics with some drape such as rayon challis, wool challis, cotton lawn, cotton voile, some linens, chambray, cotton madras.

54″-60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: Top A, 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 yd (1.37 – 1.60 m) // Dress B, 2 – 2 1/4 yd (1.82 – 2.06 m) // Dress C, 2 3/8 – 2 5/8 yd (2.17 – 2.40 m).
