Marsha Style Leila Dress and Slip

Buy the Leila Dress and Slip sewing pattern from Marsha Style. The Leila Dress is an unlined mini or maxi length dress. If your fabric requires lining, a slip pattern is also included. The Leila Slip comes in mini or midi length.

The Leila Dress features a V neckline and gathered tiers. The shorter dress has three tiers, while the maxi length dress has four tiers. There are optional ties that can be attached to the back of the dress to bring the waist in. The sleeve has gathers at the sleeve head and a gathered circular frill at the hem.

The Leila Slip also features a front V neckline but with a straight back. The slip lines up with the dress to form the perfect lining slip or can be worn as a dress in its own right. The midi length slip has side splits. The neck edge is finished with a wide stitched down facing. Try using grosgrain ribbon for the shoulder straps. Or consider using adjusters and sliders with your straps. You will need to increase the recommend strap length by 5 cm (2″) if you are adding adjusters and sliders.

Suggested fabrics: This dress and slip are best suited to a fabric that is soft and drapes well. Consider using light to mid weight fabrics such as linen, linen blends, cotton and cotton gauze. For a softer silhouette consider polyester, viscose, rayon, Tencel, silk or blends of these. The surface texture of a crepe or crinkle is also a great option.

View B (maxi dress): 45″ (1.15 m) wide fabric: 4.0 – 5.0 yd (3.7 – 4.5 m) // 58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: 3.3 – 4.2 yd (3.0 – 3.8 m).

View C (mini slip): 45″ (1.15 m) wide fabric: 1.6 – 1.9 yd (1.4 – 1.7 m) // 58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: 1.0 – 1.5 yd (0.9 – 1.4 m).

View D (midi slip): 45″ (1.15 m) wide fabric: 2.4 – 2.7 yd (2.2 – 2.5 m) // 58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: 1.5 – 2.7 yd (1.4 – 2.4 m).
