Buy the Foxglove Oven Mitt and Hand Towel sewing pattern from Lasenby Patterns. The compact hexagonal oven mitt has a quilted base and hanging loop. The matching hexagonal hand towel, also with a hanging loop, is backed with muslin or towelling.

Suggested fabrics: 

Fabric 1 (main outer fabric): Natural fabrics. Medium/heavy weight canvas, quilting cotton, twill, cotton duck, denim, natural upholstery. Avoid all synthetics!

Fabric 2 (lining fabric for oven mitt): Can be the same as Fabric 1. Natural fabrics. Light/medium weight cotton, linen, bamboo, quilting cotton, twill, canvas, drill.

Fabric 3 (interlining fabric, optional): Natural fabrics. Cotton muslin, calico, quilting cotton.

Fabric 5 (absorbent fabric): Double layer muslin, cotton or bamboo towelling.

Fabric 6 (wadding): Heavy weight. Thick dense quilting wadding. Bamboo, cotton, wool.

Fabric requirements: 

Fabric 1: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: Oven mitt and hand towel, 50 cm (20″).

Fabric 2: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: Oven mitt, 50 cm (20″).

Fabric 3: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: The same length as the fabric piece(s) you are interlining.

Fabric 5: 115 cm (44″) wide fabric: Hand towel, 50 cm (20″).

Fabric 6: 115 cm (44″) wide wadding: Oven mitt, 25 cm (10″).

Sizing:

Oven mitt: L 18 cm x W 20 cm x D 1 cm (approx. 8″ x 9″ x 3/8″).

Hand towel: L 40 cm x W 36 cm x D 0.5 cm (approx. 16″ x 14″ x 1/4″).
