Buy the Whitlow Robe sewing pattern from In the Folds. Whitlow is a relaxed robe designed for slow and easy mornings. It is the perfect cover-up to throw on as you prepare for the day, or to relax on the couch. It has two length options, one that finishes above the knee, the other below the knee.

The robe features raglan sleeves, a deep overlap (for a great amount of coverage), pockets (in-seam or patch), a shaped collar band and a waist sash. Interior waist ties keep the robe nice and secure. The hem has a facing for a beautiful and clean finish. Choose between a cropped sleeve or a longer sleeve with a hem facing.

Seam finishes depend on your fabric choice. Lightweight fabrics are finished with French seams, while thicker fabrics are finished with an overlocker/serger or zig-zag stitch.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). Choose sizes A – J or sizes G – P. What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The sheets will need to be joined.

Suggested fabrics: The Whitlow Robe is compatible with a wide variety of woven fabrics. For a lightweight robe, consider linen, linen blends, cotton lawn, sateen, silk charmeuse, viscose, lyocell (rayon) or double gauze. For a warmer robe, consider terry towelling, waffle weave, cotton flannelette or polar fleece. For thicker fabrics, you may choose to cut the waist tie pieces (hidden inside the robe) in a lighter-weight fabric.

Fabric requirements: You will require more fabric if lengthening.

Sizes A – J

Short: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3.3 – 4.6 m (3.6 – 5.1 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2.7 – 3.3 m (3 – 3.6 yd).

Long: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3.7 – 4.9 m (4.1 – 5.4 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2.9 – 3.5 m (3.2 – 3.9 yd).

Sizes G – P

Short: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 4.5 – 5 m (5 – 5.5 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3 – 4.2 m (3.3 – 4.6 yd).

Long: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 4.8 – 5.4 m (5.3 – 5.9 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3.4 – 4.6 m (3.7 – 5.1 yd).

Sizing: A – J and G – P (approx. UK 6 – 26/28 and UK 18/20 – 44). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

The Whitlow Robe is available in two size brackets: sizes A – J and sizes G – P. The sizes A – J pattern has been drafted for a B cup bust (5 cm/2″ difference between high bust and full bust measurements). The sizes G – P pattern has been drafted for a D cup bust (10 cm/4″ difference between high bust and full bust measurements).

The Whitlow Robe is designed to be relaxed in fit. Select a size based on your high bust measurement. Due to the nature of the design and the amount of ease in the pattern, it is unlikely that you will need to make a bust adjustment if your bust measurement is in a different size bracket than your high bust. It is also unlikely that you will need to grade between pattern sizes due to the nature of the wrap.

This pattern is drafted for a height of 170 cm (5’7″). Use the LENGTHEN/SHORTEN lines on the pattern to make alterations to the length.

Notions: Coordinating thread // Optional: 1.4 m (1.6 yd) light to mid-weight fusible interfacing; if your fabric is prone to stretching, you may choose to use interfacing tape to stabilise the front opening (or tearaway vilene).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (70 pages for sizes A-J, 73 pages for sizes G-P); A0 copy shop pattern (4 sheets for sizes A-J, 4 sheets for sizes G-P). This pattern has layers so you can print just the size(s) you need.
