Buy the Duathlon Shorts sewing pattern from Fehr Trade. This is a pattern for close-fitting capris or shorts in three lengths with contrast side panels. There’s an integrated pocket at each hip, perfect for gels, keys or your phone, plus an optional padding piece for cyclists wanting some extra comfort on their ride. An elasticated, high-rise waistband means these shorts won’t shift around as you move either!

What we think: A great staple for anyone wanting to embark on an activewear sewing adventure!

Suggested fabrics: Lycra jersey with at least 50% stretch in both directions and good recovery (wicking Lycra is ideal).

Fabric requirements: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: Main, 1 m (1 yd) // Contrast fabric, 70 cm (28″).

Sizing: XXS – XL (approx. UK 6 – 18). Please check the size chart. It is recommended that you select a size based on your hip measurement.

Notions: Less than 1 m of 2 cm (3/4″) woven (braided) waistband elastic; less than 0.5 m (fat quarter) of padding fabric (this does not need to stretch – you can use one (or more!) layers of thick fleece, sweatshirting or laminated foam padding (used in bra making) to achieve the perfect cushioning).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (20 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet); projector file. This pattern is layered so you can select your size(s) before printing.
