Buy the Sylvie Dress sewing pattern from Christine Haynes. The Sylvie Dress is a fit-and-flare dress with feminine vintage detailing. The bodice is unlined and sleeveless, with three small darts under the bust, back waist darts, a bias-bound neckline and armholes, and an invisible zipper up the centre back seam. The wide lined waistband can be cut on-grain or on the bias. The skirt is an unlined gathered dirndl that can be cut on-grain or crossgrain to utilise fabric borders, and it is topped with optional large patch pockets.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight and medium weight wovens such as linen, lawn, shirting, and chambray. Fabrics with border prints or edges can be used for the skirt.

Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements assume non-directional fabric. Extra fabric may be required for nap, one-way design, shading, matching design, or shrinkage. Fabric requirements may be different if pockets and waistband pieces are cut on the bias. Yardage for border fabrics might be different depending on desired placement.
